WANGDA
This is a joint initiative of Disha School for Special Children and Dhempe College of Arts and Science. Disha charitable trust is a voluntary organisation based in Panaji which caters to the needs of children with disabilities. It aims at teaching life skills to these children so that they are capable of learning, earning and living a normal life. The word “wangda” in Konkani means together. This project was started in 2011-2012 by Dr. Wendy Manuel, associate professor Dhempe College and Ms. Sandhya Kalokhe, manager Disha School for Special Children.
AIM: Working together with special children to integrate them with society, i.e. our college students, in studies, songs, dance and various activities, in a true spirit of social inclusion.
