Since the academic year 2017-2018, Dhempe College of Arts and Science adopted Flipped Learning as one of the Best Practices of the institution. In view of this, the college invited Dr. Vasudha Kamat and Dr. Jayashree Shinde to orient the faculty members of the institution towards using flipped learning strategies in lesson execution. In the same academic year, Dr. Swati Pawar received intensive training in a residential workshop on flipped learning at SNDT College, Mumbai.
In the year 2018-2019, the Flipped Learning team, comprising of Dr. Swati Pawar, Ms. Akshata Bhatt, Ms. Palia Pandit and Ms. Teja Kundaikar, conducted two workshops, one local and one state-level.
This year, the Flipped Learning team of the college conducted the annual workshop for faculty members of the institution. A total of 30 faculty members participated in this workshop. The workshop was scheduled on 19th and 20th August 2019.
As part of this two-day immersive and interactive workshop, participants were acquainted with several e-learning tools, resources, learning management systems and digital aids which could be employed meaningfully in the classroom to enhancing learning experience. The participants were also provided hands-on training in the tools and methodologies in order to facilitate practical implementation of the aids in their respective subjects. The participants were also acquainted with in-class cooperative learning strategies that could increase learner-participation and engage diverse learners in effective pedagogical environment.
Subsequent to the workshop, the participants have started implementing select strategies and tools in the classroom to enrich learning experience of students.
