Chaisma 2019

The Department of Biotechnology organized a two-day Biotechnology exhibition cum event Chiasma7.0 on 11 th – 12 th December 2019, which was a major success. The exhibition was declared open by the Principal Dr. Vrinda Borker on 11 th December 2019. The students of first year and second year B. Sc. (Biotechnology) put up various exhibits and working models related to the subjects pertaining to Biotechnology. Eight higher Secondary Schools and 4 Colleges from Goa participated in the event and the exhibition had a total of 227 visitors. Several student competitions and activities were organized for the college students on both the days, while higher secondary schools had events on the second day. The title of Miss Chiasma was bagged by Ms. Swati Mishra of Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College – Margao and Mr. Chiasma by Mr. Vishwanath Varde of P.E.S College – Ponda. During the Valedictory on 12 th December 2019, the prizes to the winners were given by the Vice-Principal Mrs. Manjiri Barve, Mr. Edwin Cortez, Head, Dept. of Economics and Dr. Gauri Achari, In-Charge, Dept. of Biotechnology. The overall winner in the Higher Secondary category was Mushtifund Aryan Higher Secondary School where as in the college section St. Xaviers College – Mapusa bagged the first place in Chiasma 7.0.
