The Department of Biotechnology, Dhempe College of Arts & Science organized a two day event cum exhibition CHIASMA 2019 on 29^th & 30^th January 2019. Our students presented fourteen exhibits pertaining to various fields of Biology. The exhibition had a footfall of two hundred thirty three from different high schools, higher secondary schools and colleges of Goa. The exhibit titled ‘Little Giants from Kenan’s Backyard’ presented by Mr. Kenan Vaz was the major attraction. Various competitions like Brain wars (Debate), Mendelian Art (Chromosome plate puzzle), Inquisitive (Quiz) and Bio-spectrum (Fashion show) were conducted in which four colleges and three higher secondary schools participated.

The Department of Biotechnology, in collaboration with Goa Vigyan Parishad organised a guest lecture of two esteemed personalities Dr. Shekhar Mande, Director of National Centre for Cell Sciences, Pune and Dr. Sharmistha Benerjee, Professor University of Hyderabad on 19^th January 2017.

Dr. SrinivasKaveri, Director of INSERM, France interacted with students of Biotechnology on 19^th September, 2016 and enlightened them regarding opportunities for the Indian students to apply for higher studies in France.

The Biotechnology Department at Dhempe College of Arts and Science organized an interactive session ‘Meet The Entrepreneur’ which was held by the Second year students of on the 18^th, 19^th and 21^st of August, 2015. Entrepreneurship Development is a part of their syllabus.

Organized a Guest lecture on ‘Marine Biotechnology’ by Dr. Samir Damare, Scientist at National Institute of Oceanography as a part of PEP activity on 24^th June, 2015.

Organized a Guest lecture on ‘Importance of Nanotechnology’ by Dr. TeotoneVaz, Associate Professor at St. Xavier’s College of Arts & Science as a part of PEP activity on 22^nd July, 2015.

Organized a medical talk cum camp on 2^nd December, 2015 by Dr, Abel DaCosta, psychiatrist, JMU hospital Porvorim
