The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar- Goa organised a one day state level workshop on ‘NAAC Accreditation’ on 18th July, 2019 in the seminar hall of the college. The prime objective of this workshop was to create awareness among the participants about the new format of the accreditation process and clarify any doubts regarding certain issues related to Self Study Report. This workshop was attended by 52 participants. In addition to the 32 in house faculties, there were 20 participants from the various colleges of Goa. Participants from other colleges mainly included Principals and IQAC conveners.
The workshop began with the session on ‘Documentation and Student Feedback’. The resource person for this session was Dr. Pranab Mukhopadhyay, IQAC coordinator, Goa University. Besides imparting vital information on the topic, Dr. Pranab also shared his experiences as a peer team member. Moreover, he also gave insightful suggestions to the colleges that could be handy while preparing for the accreditation process.
The resource person for the second session was Dr. Jagannath Patil, NAAC adviser from Bangalore who delivered a session on ‘Key indicators of all the criteria and Opt out option’. Dr. Patil highlighted the main objectives behind changing the format of NAAC accreditation and also spoke on the preparation of SSR in detail. His presentation cleared many doubts of the participants. This presentation was followed by a discussion and question answer session which was marked by the active participation of IQAC conveners. The interactive session was highly beneficial to all and was well appreciated by the participants.
The third and last session of this workshop was on ‘Criterion II’ and the resource person for the same was Dr. R.V. Pai, NAAC Coordinator, Goa University. Dr. Pai focussed his presentation on the data requirements for Criterion II and data collection. He clarified some of the key aspects of Criterion II requirements such as admission data, reservations in admission process, accountable academic year, and student satisfaction survey.
