The Health Centre of the institution, helmed by Dr. Lina Talwadker organized a talk on ‘Vector Borne Diseases’ on 18^th September 2019 at 11.00 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. Noted personality in the field of medicine, Dr. Bhikaji Ghanekar was the Resource Person for the same. Acquainting the gathering with information regarding different types of mosquitos, Dr. Ghanekar provided insights into the causes behind the spread of diseases such as malaria and dengue. He also apprised the gathering with requisite precautions, preventive measures and medication to be taken in order to fight vector-borne diseases and deter their spread. He also showed the larvae of dengue mosquitoes in order to enhance awareness about hazardous vectors. The talk garnered participation from 112 students and 11 faculty members several of whom also asked pertinent queries regarding the issue.
