A training workshop in Linear Algebra with Python learning was conducted by the Department of Mathematics, DCT’s Dhempe College of Arts and Science on 16 th ,17 th , 18 th 20 th and 21 st Dec 2019. The workshop was sponsored by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa.

Since Linear Algebra has vast applications in Physics and Computer Science, mathematical idea of vectors plays an important role in many areas in Physics. Linear Algebra provides concepts that are crucial to many areas in Computer Science such as graphics, image processing, optimization etc. The training workshop was held for teaching faculty and students from Physics, Maths and Computer Science background and was entirely free for the students. The learning Outcome was to make the participants able to implement computational skills by program implementation using “Python” in Linear Algebra .
Dr. Ramesh Venkadachalam Palani from Central University of Tamil Nadu, resource person for various training in Mathematics and computational skills programmes of NBHM was one of the resource person for this workshop. Resource person Assistant Prof. Miss Darshana Umarye conducted the hands on training for the participants during the practice sessions.
Participants from various Colleges in Goa participated enthusiastically in the training with keen interest in learning the Skill of PYTHON in Linear Algebra. Altogether 22 participants benefitted from this workshop.
The workshop was coordinated by the Assistant Prof. Mr. Vitendra Mhatonkar under the leadership of Mrs. Maria Suzana Miranda with the guidance of the College Principal Dr. Vrinda Borker.
