The Department of Economics organised an educational visit to Dharohar: National Museum of Customs and GST on 11th September 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Around 20 students from FY, SY and TY Economics participated in the visit. The visit was organised to provide students with an experiential understanding of the history and evolution of Customs and Goods and
Services Tax (GST) in India. Students explored the museum’s exhibits and gained insights into the country’s taxation system, customs administration and revenue collection. The visit enabled students to relate concepts studied in the classroom to their practical and historical contexts. The students were accompanied by Ms Yogini Malvankar and Ms Bakhita Vaz. The visit proved to be an enriching academic experience, providing students with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of taxation and public revenue through experiential learning.
